Alicia Anderson '15 Recruiting Profile

The 2010/2011 season was my first year playing hockey. Prior to hockey I played Ringette at the highest level "AA". In my first year of hockey I made Bantam "AAA" as a 97 born player. I was the #1 starter for my team the Calgary "AAA" Rangers playing 60% of our regular season games and all of our play-off games. Durring the year I had the best save percentage in the entire league which is even more impressive as I only played against the top teams in our league and our back-up played the lesser teams. This summer I am playing and starting for a 96 age traveling team called the Rocky Mountain Storm and will be competing in the North American Classic in the elite "AAA" division in Winnipeg in June. I will also be representing the Calgary zone in the Alberta Challenge Cup at the end of April 2011. I may have the opportunity to move up and play midget next year as an under aged player. This is something I am considering as a way to continue to challenge myself at the highest level. This is something that is done very rarely as "Girls Hockey Calgary" does not like to accelerate players. The exception being players who can move up and still be in the top 10% of players in midget which is where I feel I would fall into. I am an extremely competitive player and pride myself on playing big in big games. In practice I pride myself on being the hardest working player on the ice and play each shot as if it were overtime.
