Personal Statement

I want to get into a college that is the best suited for me and will help me grow and challenge myself. I want to play on a competitive hockey team, as well as drive towards my artistic and academic goals.

I am hard-working and dedicated, I play a 200-foot game, I am amazing in the faceoff circle and I believe that the first battle of the game is crucial in setting the tone for a fast-paced and hard game. I practice as much as I can, whether finding more ice time or shooting pucks in the garage.

I never give up; most of my goals come from the hard-to-play areas of the ice. I am tenacious and gritty and understand the importance of winning battles in key areas of the ice like on the boards, at the blue lines, and in front of the nets. One of my key strengths would be my vision and my ability to make plays under pressure.

I hone my skills daily through rigorous practice and discipline by singing in a highly competitive choir at  Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. It is rated in the top 20 art high schools in America. We sing a large variety of styles, both classical, jazz, opera, and contemporary, that are challenging but rewarding.

The audition process was extremely challenging it helped me learn much about myself. The comparisons between performing for large audiences and playing in crucial hockey games are prominent. Both require focus, practice, and execution.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
