Hi,
My name is Gwen Vaillancourt, I am 17 years old and am currently a junior at Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford Connecticut. I have a huge interest in playing hockey, almost obsessed with the sport. I have been into hockey for quite a while now but don't exactly play competitively yet. My biggest regret is not starting when I was real young but that won't stop me from trying my hardest to make the best that I can out of it. I have already signed up for a development team through the Shoreline Sharks that will be starting in September and going all the way to February. I talked to the coaches and they said if they see enough improvement in the right amount of time, that I may be able to switch over to the A1 travel team which would be the beginning of my journey. I try to get as much ice time as possible to improve my skills and to learn more. I am at the rink almost every day going to stick time and open hockey. And when I cant go, Im at home shooting in my basement or watching women's hockey intro videos getting so jealous of the bond that the girls have with their team mates hoping that one day that will be me. I'm not sure exactly how much experience is normally required to play college hockey. I'm assuming quite a bit. But if I put all the work I have into playing, on, and off the ice, hopefully I will find a coach that will notice that, and will work with me to get me where I want to be.
