Sophia Geron '23 Recruiting Profile

I first started skating when I was 8. Once I got the hang of it, I fell in love.  Two years later I started on my first hockey team because I wanted to be like my brother. I once again fell in love.  I've played on all boys teams my first 4 years.  The biggest difficulty for me was showing I belonged. I had to work harder than everyone else to prove my worth, and that mentality has stuck with me in everything I do today, whether it is proving I deserved the grade, or that I was right for that team. I try my best and work my hardest at hockey, school, and everything thing else. I want to go as far as I can with hockey, because I've worked hard to get where I am and I love the game.  When I met Gigi Marvin at one of my brothers camps, and found out she had a silver medal, I stopped dreaming about playing in the NHL and started practicing so I could be where she was.  I believe that with hard work and practice you can accomplish anything.
