At age nine my parents divorced, but remained friends. During this time I moved back to Illinois from Virginia and needed an outlet. I found volleyball came naturally to me. Not only do you need the team to perform, the team needs you to perform. I played two years in a house league program learning the fundamentals. I was then asked to join the travel club level team. In the four years since I have made the switch from in-house to club level, I have progressed to our clubs National team. I have also gone from the B team in 6th grade to starting on Varsity as a Sophmore. I love the game of Volleyball, it has impacted my life in numerous ways. I have learned to accept defeat and savor victory. I have gained the ability to work, train, and play with a diverse group of people. I have found the need to set goals for myself to balance School, Life, Volleyball and my hobbies.
After college my goal is to join Law Enforcement, primarily with the US Marshall Service or FBI. I would like to find a College program where my skills will make an immediate impact, while getting a quality education. I have been described by my peers and coaches as a leader on and off the court.
