Lucille Thewes '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Lucy Thewes, and I am a defenseman who has been playing hockey for over 10 years. While being a defenseman, I often rush the puck to create offensive opportunities for my team.  Over the years I have played on mostly Tier 2 teams, or on teams an age group above my own.  As a player I am a great listener and am always looking to improve. Coaches often comment on how I am able to keep an optimistic attitude while also pushing myself and my teammates to reach the next level. I know that to progress you need to put in the effort, and I consistently put in work off the ice to develop my skills as a player and as a person.  As a teammate, I am always willing to lend a hand, and I often spend time helping my team with any difficulties they might have, whether it be a question about a play or homework for school. 

In terms of academics, I am at the top of my class, and take some of the most advanced classes my school can offer, all the while maintaining a 4.12 GPA. I balance this while also participating in a large variety of extra-curriculars that help me to engage in and help my school and local communities. I want to pursue the best education I can while also playing the sport that I have grown to love at a high level.
