One of my top goals today is to leave an impact on the Burnsville Hockey Program. I want to help my team get to state this season. I want the younger players to look up to me, and remember me as a role model on and off the ice. I want to build strong friendships, but at the same time, work hard and better my hockey skills. I believe it is very important to be a team player - and be positive at all times. There is a process to achieving goals and in the end there will be an outcome. One goal I have is to be a leading point scorer of my team this season. This means I will need to be an unselfish player, and set out time for myself to shoot pucks, practice one timers, etc. - I need to be committed to the sport. I believe that assists are just as important as goals, and that is something everyone needs to remember.
Outside of hockey I'm a student with good grades. I am proud to say I am a member of Student Council at my school as well. I love helping people out and making new friends. I also play soccer at the high school, and have been on varsity since eighth grade. As a multi-sport athlete, and a high-achieving student, I have had many opportunities, faced different challenges, and have become a smarter, more resilient, hard working, and well-rounded person.
I feel that I would be an excellent teammate in college, because I bring the energy and hard work it takes to succeed. I go to practice with a mindset of "I want to get better today" and I encourage my teammates to try their best as well. I'm a very competitive player, I hate to lose - but it does happen, and when it does, I come back harder the next game and I try to adjust my game and improve in whatever area I need to work on. I am in constant pursuit of being the best I can be. I have high expectations of myself and those around me, and I always try to encourage and inspire others in leading by example and having a positive attitude.
