Personal Statement
When I was little, I loved watching my older brother play hockey, and started playing when I was four. I played defense until my first year of u10s when my team didn’t have a goalie. I decided to step up and give it a try. Although I still skated out sometimes during that first year, I was hooked on goaltending.
I am a goalie because I love the way I feel when playing well and I am able to help my team; the thrill of making a big save keeps me motivated to continue to work to be a better player than the day before. I find being an essential part of my team’s success super rewarding and being on a team that cares about each other like a family, who can have fun together and still be ready for business on the ice is very important to me.
I am always attentive and listen to my coaches’ instructions and suggestions on how to improve. Even though it might be something I’ve never done before or is outside of my comfort zone, I’ll try putting their tips into action. I am a dependable person and player because I never want to let my team down and I always work as hard as I can to help add to the success of whomever I might be working or playing with.
Outside of hockey, I like to hang out with friends and spend time outside; I love to hike and boat. I also enjoy reading and making art, recently I have been painting a lot and making some jewelry.
