Hello,
My name is Keira Redmond and I started skating with my mom when I was 2 years old. She used to take me pond skating when I was 3 and I played on my first team when I was 4. I have played boys hockey through first year midget but have switched to a girls team for this coming season. I also play varsity girls hockey at my high school. Playing with boys helped me develop a strong physical game. I have been lucky to have had great coaches from the beginning which has helped with my skating and hockey sense. I have been told that I am very coachable and that I am an unselfish player.
I also play travel lacrosse and am the starting goalie for my high school. Playing both sports has helped me develop as an athlete . During my high school career I have started, been replaced, and had to compete to get my spot back. I learned to not give up and try harder.
I am undecided about what I would like to study in college. I am interested in architecture and am attending a camp for it this summer. I also really like languages especially latin and also spanish. I may decide to pursue a degree in latin so that I could become a latin teacher.
I have been raised by a single mom who has a very demanding occupation. I have learned to be organized, self sufficient, and independent. I believe that I have the skills to combine college sports and academics.
