Zelia Zika '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zelia Zika. I do not remember a day without setting foot on an ice rink; I grew up in figure skating, starting at the age of 3 but later realized my passion was set in ice hockey, for I consider figure skating a stepping stone to ice hockey. I began playing hockey for the Junior Rangers Girls program, in 2020. I quickly developed an attachment to the sport and realized my full potential in the sport when the NYC Skyliners 14U recruited me for their 2022-2023 Travel Team Co-Ed season. As the seasons progressed, I've had many coaches report that I am highly coachable, always ready to work hard, a good teammate, able to take feedback and reproduce it on the ice, and not shy to have my voice heard while playing. I look forward to developing my skills on and off the ice in the next three years of high school.
