My name is Sophie Brien and I've been playing hockey since I was 6 years old. I am 16 years old and I have no greater passion than to continue playing my one and favorite sport: ice hockey. I wouldn't know where I'd be without hockey; making connections with new people and coaches for different teams has brought me to a place of courage to continue playing, and confidence as a person. I am a 2025 graduate and play for the CougarHawks as a left wing. Starting right before sophomore year, I joined split-season club teams; we played against teams from New England, New York, and Canada. The level of hockey forced me to elevate my game; skating faster all the time. Academically, I currently hold a GPA of 3.5. I want to continue to learn and succeed as a hockey player, and as a student, and make special connections along the way. My coaches and teammates describe me as a quiet and shy, yet passionate and dedicated hockey player who never wants to leave the ice. I pride myself in being a great finisher. I've scored against all of the best teams in the league, and all the best goalies in the league.
