If 13 years of competitive gymnastics taught me anything, it would be to quite literally live everyday by the saying fall down 7 stand up 8. After just a month of having a stick in my hands for the very first time, I was ready to jump into the deep end of the lacrosse pool and leave my old life behind. So as soon as I left the gym, I embarked on the lacrosse journey and haven't looked back since. Because when I started lacrosse, all my teammates and peers had played for much longer than I had, I had to work twice as hard to catch up to them and get to that level of play. I think the extra time and effort was 100% worth it because it ultimately reinforced the saying that you truly do need to work hard for what you want.
I also believe lacrosse in itself is what gave my life back to me. I completely fell in love with the aspects of fitness and finesse and getting to finally be a part of something bigger than myself. I love pushing myself to my limits and watching myself grow with the sport. Lacrosse for me is what gets me excited about day to day life, which I honestly think has helped motivate me on the field, in the classroom, and elsewhere that I give my time to. I hope to play collegiate lacrosse so I can take my competitive and persevering nature to the next level, but until then I’ll be working on my game to help take me where I want to go.
