Sophie Castillo '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Sophie Castillo I am part of the 2015 graduating class of Parkland High School in Allentown Pennsylvania. I have been playing lacrosse for 7 years now. Both this and last season, I was a starter at midfield on Varsity. I also play center, attack, and defense. I can use both right and left hands equally - including shooting and scoring with accuracy with my left (non-dominant) hand. Although I prefer midfield position, I have the skills to play anywhere on the field. I think you will find I am a total, complete lacrosse player!

My team just won our Conference where we ended undefeated in the league at 14-0 (overall 16-4). Below you can see some of my achievements for Freshman and Sophomore year:

Outside of lacrosse, I am a leader and a basketball player. I was Captain of my middle school basketball team and also my Freshman basketball team. In 8th grade I was President of Springhouse Middle School, so I am very used to displaying responsibility and leadership.

My dream is to play lacrosse in college. I am looking for a school that will push me both academically and challenge my lacrosse skills. I am keeping all my options open to find the right school for me. I play on the Lehigh Valley Steam Club team coached by Jennifer Noland and John Seitzinger. I also just earned a spot on the Philly HEADstrong Team for 2013 coached by Meagan DiCave.
