Personal Statement
At the young age of 7, I discovered my love for the game of lacrosse while outdoors, playing pass with my older sisters. Since that very age, it was impossible to keep a stick out of my hands. Eight years later, and not much has changed. If anything, my love for the game has only grown stronger. I would like to think of myself as a leader and successful person as I was captain of all of my sports in middle school, a state champion for three events in track and field, and a 3-time varsity athlete (starter in 2/3 sports) during my freshman year of high school. As proud as I am in my athletic achievements, I am more so proud of my academic accomplishments. As a sophomore, I participated in Biology Honors, Government Honors, and English Honors. On top of that, I took part in both Spanish 3 and Italian 1 classes. Due to a project in my Government Honors class, I received national recognition for the C-Span student-cam competition, as my group produced a documentary highlighting the opioid epidemic facing our country today. As a junior in high school, I am enrolled in AP United States History, AP Language and Composition, chemistry honors, pre-calculus, Spanish 4, and Italian 2. Throughout the rest of high school, I have a lot to grow. However, my love for the game will continue and my skills will improve. I hope to play lacrosse in college. Furthering my education is extremely important to me, and if I am able to play the sport that is also very important to me at the same time, that would be a dream come true.
Thank you,
