I have been a competitive athlete my whole life. Tennis was my first passion and I trained three hours a day with one hour fitness, six days a week including tournaments on weekends. After moving to Florida recently, I had the opportunity to row on the erg for strength and loved the feeling of using all my energy. I felt so powerful and enjoyed it so much that I realized that tennis was not my true calling, rowing was. In tennis I had to harness my power, in rowing I can use it to its fullest extent.
Since I started to row in October 2022, I have realized how much I enjoy the synchronization and freeness of rowing. I have always loved working out and realized how similar rowing was to this. I recognized the pain but also the joy of accomplishing what you set out to do. I also realized how much I had longed for a team to work towards my goals with. I love being part of a team and being able to support each other and work hard to push each other. Additionally, my fight and determination to win came from the years of tennis where I had to fight through a match by myself. Through my years of doing sports, I know what it takes to win and I am willing to do whatever it takes.
Lastly, I love rowing so much I could not go to college without it. I want to be part of a team that I can support and bring as many wins to as I can. My ultimate goal is to be a member of the US National Team and hope I can find a great college coach and team that can help me achieve this dream.
