2023 Highlights Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Alexandra Burke, and I am a member of the 2024 graduating class. I am pretty new to rowing; I joined in January 2022 and quickly became fond of the sport. After about a week or two of training, I pulled my first 2K, which was a 7:53. Then, in only 3 months, I was able to pull my PR which is a 7:28. Afterwards, I began water training and eventually joined the team I am on now, Friends of Port Rowing. I am extremely excited to row in college because it will take something I love to a whole new level. Previously, I was a varsity swimmer and had been a swimmer since about the age of three. I am so excited to see what this sport holds for me in the future!
