I started rowing in 2021, on a COVID impacted sport season. Despite the early mornings and unpredictable Hudson River, I immediately loved the sport. My rowing experience helped me as I transitioned into a full time coxswain. Over the years, I have grown as a leader in my boat and on the team. This summer, I have had the opportunity to be a coxswain for the Masters Recreation and Masters Competitive Rowing through Hudson River Rowing Association. All of these rowers have been rowing longer than I have been alive. This experience continues to reinforce my respect for the sport and the athletes who choose to compete. I am interested in medicine in hopes of becoming a neurologist. Continuing crew during college will help me find the balance between academics and athletics while allowing me to find my peace on the water.
