The main reason I want to row in college is because I can’t imagine life after high school without the atmosphere that rowing brings. It’s unlike any other sport or community and I would be beyond happy to continue competitively in college.
I started recreation rowing in middle school about 4 years ago. Then I started rowing competitively my sophomore year of hs.
In the classroom, on the team, and in life in general I offer discipline, grit, and teamwork. When I enter the classroom, the erg room, or the boat I put my full attention and energy to learn, improve, and become successful. I know that I can trust those in the boat and others can trust me to give it my all as well.
I fall into the lightweight category but I push myself and compete alongside my open weight teammates. Rowing has given me the space to push my “average” body to a not so normal place. Being on the smaller side I know I have to work harder but I take it in stride and surprise myself with how much my body can do. My passion for rowing grows everyday and is my inspiration to continue the sport I love. You can trust that I will give you my all every day to become better rather it’s front stage or behind the scenes.
