During my career as a high school athlete and student thus far, I have learned a lot about strength - from my family, my teammates and myself. Not only has everything I've learned and every hour I've put into training brought me successes in spring and fall races alike and led me to a silver at the national scholastic rowing championship in the women's JV double my sophomore year but it has encouraged me to train even harder in the seasons to come.
Starting with a small team that focused on balanced, reliable strength, I became adept at building up my skills. I've learned to work closely with my crew, and have helped to see their best abilities alongside my own. I put all of my strength and heart into the boat I'm in, and am not afraid to take the lead if the situation calls for it. People sometimes forget that we do sports because we enjoy them, but it's something that I try to never loose sight of. Although academics are and will typically be my primary concern in the future, that has never stopped my from bringing everything I have to the table and dedicating myself to both the sport and the people who make the team a team.
