Hi, my name is Keely Jelinek, and I'm 5'4", 145 lbs, and I live in Anchorage AK. I have played soccer for 12 years now, since I was 5 years old. I play on Alaska Rush for my club team and I play on the South Anchorage High School varsity team for high school. I also travel out of state for soccer tournaments with my select team, AKFC (Alaska Futbol Club), as well as with other traveling or club teams such as Mat-Su Soccer Club, and the Alaska Northstars. My accomplishments as a soccer player include: My club soccer team winning the state tournament every year we have participated in it, being named to the Alaska ODP Team each year I tried out for it, being a starter on my high school varsity team (the 2011 and 2012 AK state champion team) as a freshman, sophomore, and junior; and being chosen for the Cook Inlet All Region First Team (Utility Player - 2011, Defender - 2012) and All-State Team (Defender - 2013). As a soccer player my strengths are that I'm a very composed player, good at winning balls in the air and good at anticipating and distributing the ball. I have good foot skills, and although I like to win, I'm not the type of player to yell at others or give too much "constructive criticism" when we're losing. As far as schools are concerned, I'm not too picky, I guess I'd prefer a smaller school but I wouldn't mind a large school either, if it is the right one. I'd like to go to a DI, DII or DIII school, and I'm willing to try most locations, if its a nice place to live. My one requirement for a school is that it needs to have a quality academic program, as I'm going to college to receive an education in addition to playing soccer. For a major, I think I might like to go into quantitative finance, international economics or engineering, but I'm not certain yet. Going into college, my primary goal as a soccer player is to be part of a team where I actually play - I love soccer and I'm not willing to go to a school where being on the team means being a bench warmer. I hope I'm qualified for your school and I'd love to hear from you if I am. :)
