Leiyani Buckner '25 Recruiting Profile

Scoring the winning goal to propel my team to victory, winning individual accolades such as "All League Honorable Mention" as a Freshman, having played an impactful role in a perfect league season by going 10-0 and becoming a champion.  Those moments were special and rewarding; yet when I reflect on my experiences playing soccer, those moments are not the defining chapters of my soccer experience.  Whereas, the impactful moments of my soccer career involve the relationships I have developed with my teammates.  Learning the strategies, grit, and determination necessary to win a match; in addition to relying on one another, having the fortitude to "roll up our sleeves" and go back on the practice field and improve as a team after the agony of defeat.  Those experiences shaped me into the player and person I am today.  A goal of mine if afforded the opportunity is to continue my soccer journey in college and apply the lessons I learned along the way with a program that will have me.
