Zairen Paulino '22 Recruiting Profile

Being passionate about something you love whether it emerges from athletics, art, innovation, or any number of other aspirations, is one of the greatest feelings in the world. For me, this feeling surfaces when I’m out on a green field, playing soccer. Hi, my name is Zairen Paulino. I am a senior, Class of 2022, attending Vista Murrieta High School (VMHS) in Murrieta, California. 

As a starting outside midfielder, I play for the San Diego Surf U19 ECRL team along with the VMHS Varsity Team. I have earned the Maxpreps Player of the Game award twice, December 3, 2019 and January 16, 2020, as well as the Athlete of the Month award in December of 2019. 

I am a multi-sport athlete, also competing for my school’s track and field team as a sprinter. I qualified and ran in my league’s championship meet where I was named the 400m champion and the 4x100m champion my freshman year. I am a very coachable athlete, listening to all constructive criticism and using it to improve my game more and more every day. I also have a positive mindset but am not afraid to voice my critiques to others, constantly influencing them to be the best they can be.

Determined to accomplish my goals, I want to further my academic and athletic career as a collegiate student-athlete. I’m interested in majoring in kinesiology, exercise science, and/or physical therapy as I want to pursue a job in that field. I am open to all levels and ultimately have a goal of finding the right college match for me on and off the field.
