Hello coaches!! My name is Kacy Walker. I graduate in the class of 2025 and go to Marin Academy located in San Rafael, California. I play for Marin FC 2006 ECNL, and my primary position is outside left back. I have loved soccer since a young age and want to continue this passion at the collegiate level.
I have had some success over my short career, both individually and as a team. Since our short time in the ECNL league, our team has made the Nationals for our first two years. We are the only team within Marin FC to do so. For the last six years, I have been a starter on the Marin FC 2006 team as a 2007. In 2021, I was named ECNL 2nd team All-conference. Being apart the same team for the last 8 years has allowed me to grow strong unbreakable bonds with my teammates. Additionally, I have also been a part of the PDP NorCal Program for the last 5 years. During this past high school season, I was a starter (at the 6) for varsity at Marin Academy. We play in the BCL- West league and this year, 2023, we lost in the North Coast Sectional finals, but won the Division 2 Norcal Championship. At the conclusion of the season, I was named First Team All-Conference.
I would make a good addition to any team because of my loyalty and commitment to improving both individually and love of helping any team I am on to improve. I am hardworking, determined, and love helping my teammates feel good about the way they play. I believe a common trait that all my coaches would highlight is my work ethic, toughness and persistant attitude to improve at every practice and game. One example of this was that in 2016, I was cut from the PDP Regional team and was devasted. My confidence was shattered and I lost belief in myself as a soccer player. I soon realized that this was a test of my character and I looked inward to better understand how badly I wanted it. That year, I trained hard at all my club practices to work on my areas of that needed improvement. I set a goal to make PDP the next year and was determined to achieve it. The following year, I not only made the team, but was also invited to the tournament against the other regions.
Academically, I am very grateful to go to school with experimental and project-based learning. I am passionate about the outdoors and love learning ways to protect the world we call home. My favorite subjects include science, photography and English. Particularly, I have fallen in love with photography because it has given me a way to express myself without using my voice. My unweighted GPA is 3.85/4.0. I am extremely excited to begin the college process searching for a school that fits my athletic, academic, and personal interests.
I look forward to meeting you.
- Kacy
