Sofia Lightner '24 Recruiting Profile

It has been my goal since I was a little kid to play college soccer.   I continue to chase my dream by putting in the hard work on a daily basis.  One thing that makes me stand out from other players is my work ethic and my heart for the game.  Every time I step on a field, whether it is a small sided drill or a championship game, I put my entire heart and soul into the game.

I have always played with an aggressive offensive style.  I play the 9 for my club team and the 10 for my high school.  I have constantly been one of the top goal scorers and playmakers on both teams.  I was one of two freshman to play every game on the varsity team and I became a full time starter as a sophomore.

I am one of the hardest working and most competitive players on the field and I always give the game and my teammates 100% of my effort.  I am an excellent teammate and was just voted team captain of my high school team, as a Junior.  Seeing my teammates succeed is my motivation to push harder and my drive to always improve as a player.  I am the most aggressive player on the field in the air.  If it is a corner kick, free kick or challenge in the air, I will always battle to win the ball.  I have consistently scored goals with my head and am known to my teammates and coaches to be fearless in the air.  

All in all, I will be an excellent teammate and leader at the next level.   

I love being on my ECNL club team, competing at the highest level in our nation and I also love the camaraderie and amazing team passion of playing for my high school.  I look forward to both of these attributes while playing at the college level.
