Hello, my name is Riley Romans, and I am currently in 8th grade at Harvard-Westlake. I have been playing soccer since I was five years old, and it has always been a dream of mine to play at the collegiate level. I understand that playing soccer at the collegiate level is a special opportunity, and because of that, I plan to work hard and continuously improve myself as a soccer player.
I played soccer in AYSO from the age of 5 until 11, and after I left AYSO, I started playing for LA Breakers FC. I am born in 2009, but despite that, I currently play on the 08 ECNL team. I played for Harvard-Westlake last season as part of the Black team (A team), and
I currently play attacking center mid (8 or 10), but I’m versatile on the field and have also played in all other positions (except goalkeeper).
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I am currently on the Honors Roll and I plan to maintain that. I also am part of the Dunk MS (a program devoted to raising money to find the cure for MS) Junior Board, Harvard-Westlake Middle School Venture Club, I am the founder of my book club, Bookworms, and I am a Student Ambassador and Student Ambassador Blogger for Harvard-Westlake.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all options, but I hope I ultimately end up at a school where I can be challenged both academically and on the soccer field.
