Personal Statement
I first found my love for soccer playing at a small catholic school in second grade in Loveland, Colorado. This school really shaped who I am today as a person and athlete. Playing multiple sports throughout my childhood I've realized that soccer is my true calling. Over the years, through all the practices, games, tournaments, injuries, and just plain aches and pains, I've learned that team unity is so important. I've also learned how to be a good teammate and how much of a passion I've gained for this sport. I truly believe that I've learned to be a great leader and I love to get to know my teammates individually. As playing striker for almost my entire soccer career and accumulating well over 100 goals, I've learned that my speed, patience and placement of shooting is my key to success. My confidence and hunger for goals is what drives my game.
I have been preparing my whole life for going to college not only in soccer but also in academics. I've always maintained a GPA of 3.8-4.0 and have been on the honor role since 6th grade. Currently I've maintained a 4.0 in high school and am taking AP classes to prepare for college. Because of being involved in church, I've volunteered for many years in many different ways. I've recently in this past year found that I have a deep love for working with kids and special needs children. I am currently a peer buddy in a PE class at my high school, where I help out the special needs students. I am also in a leadership class where I choose to go everyday after school to help out with the preschoolers. I'd like to combine this passion with what I have always dreamed of doing, being in the medical field. In the end I feel like I would be a model student-athlete that would make your school proud.
