Personal Statement

Greetings! I'm a goalkeeper graduating from high school in 2025. My first name is Nancy, but I go by my middle name, Brenae. I desire to compete in college and be a part of a team that functions as a healthy family. I love sports. I love playing sports. I love to compete with great teamwork and unity. I love playing soccer, basketball and volleyball and anything that brings folks together. In soccer and in basketball I LOVE defending! I love communicating and helping my teammates with whatever they need, and encouraging my teammates from the field and from the court. I also love denying goals and playing on the field as well. My coaches tell me I can see the field/court well and that I read the play well. I love working with others for the greater good and finding success together. I'm looking for a Christian coach that desires to coach me and make me and the whole team better. I love learning and want to be a part of a team with great character. I'm currently working on my strength and my speed to continue to be healthy.

You were brave in goal and did a good job talking and directing your backline throughout the 11v11 play. Handling - Work to continue to improve your basic handling technique so you can hold more shots and drop or give up rebounds less. 1v1s - On 1v1s or break-aways make sure to keep your weight forward on your toes to avoid diving backwards or falling backwards when trying to make a save in these difficult scenarios. Kicking - Continue to work on your basic techniques to help drive punts and goal kicks longer.

AwardsAcademic letter was awarded for her freshmen year for getting a 4.0 (while being a 3 sport athlete). POUND Award in basketball from her coaches: Perseverance, Ownership, Understanding, Noble & Determination award given freshmen year in Basketball. Golden Glove Award received spring '23 for most saves & shut outs in the Western Slope League as starting goalkeeper. Also maintained a 4.0 GPA during spring soccer '23.
ActivitiesClub leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Current licensed soccer referee - USA Soccer Federation Grassroots License since 2018. Works fall and spring reffing soccer games. Summer 2023 - mowed 5 different lawns for work. Summer 2023- began working in an insurance office & part time for a caterer doing events.
