My future goals are to play competitive collegiate soccer, professional soccer, and become a doctor. I always strive for the best academically and athletically. I am open to all options which may assist me in achieving my goals. It is very important that my future college fits both my academic and athletic goals.
Academically, I have a 4.29 GPA, received Highest Honors in every semester at Norwich Free Academy and am ranked 6th out of 586 students. In addition, to academics I enjoy being a Student Advisory Board class representative and volunteering my services to the Project Outreach Club, Unified Sports, and the Cat Shack.
I am very coachable and am always striving to improve my goalkeeping skills. Away from the field, I work out in the gym to help improve my overall strength and maintain my cardiovascular fitness. I attend goalkeeper clinics and camps to help improve my overall skill set and to work on areas of my game that need improvement. I am a competitive person and enjoy winning so when I set out to achieve a goal, I am persistent in achieving it. Once I have achieved it I set another one in order to continue making myself a better goalkeeper.
I started my soccer career at the age of four. I played both goalkeeper and forward until I was 12. Having played the field for a couple of years allowed me to develop good foot distribution skills. At the U-13 level, I realized that my passion was for goalkeeping and I committed to playing goalkeeper full-time. I have played as a goalkeeper at the premier level for six years with three of those being with the Development Academy. I sacrifice playing for my high school team because I believe playing for the Development Academy allows me to play at a competitive level that will improve my goalkeeping skills.
Some of my goalkeeping strengths are good communication, proper positioning, low diving, and breakaways. I am vocal in goal by coaching and encouraging my teammates. I think it's important to be vocal as a goalie because with good communication many problems can be solved which can prevent goals from being scored. I am also mentally tough which I believe for a goalkeeper has to be a priority. It's important to learn from the goals that are scored but I can't fixate on them. I have to be confidently ready for the next shot.
I am excited about my future as a goalkeeper and look forward to finding the right college where I will be able to grow as an athlete and student.
