Meaghan Latella '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a dedicated and hard worker, and I always give my best effort whether it be in practice or in a championship game. I was a team captain who helped my high school team stay motivated during a very rough beginning to our 2011 season, and led the team to our first Conference Tournament appearance in 3 years. I have been playing soccer since age 5, and it is my passion. During this past season, as a high school senior and as a captain of my Varsity team, I have realized that I am definitely not ready to end my soccer career yet; I want to play soccer at the collegiate level more than I can put into words to describe. Physically, I am 5' 3" and weigh 131 lbs, and am very strong going into tackles. I am also good at winning balls in the air, and at finding my open teammates on the field. I am looking for a school that has high academics and fosters a healthy balance between both academics and athletics. I prefer smaller schools, that have a "tight-knit" community feel. I am a big proponent of inclusion and of being in an environment of friendly, supportive peers. My goal is to play at the next level, and to bring lots of positive energy to a team as someone who motivates her teammates to work hard and to reach their full potentials.
