Personal Statement
Soccer has been a passion of mine my whole life. I started playing when I was five and was practicing all the time with my parents. As a young athlete, I swam and played lacrosse, basketball, and golf. Even though I loved (and still love) playing those sports, soccer kept calling me back and became my primary sport in 5th grade. Today I play outside back, center back and wing for the Alexandria Soccer Association 05 Girls Team (Red). I also play center back for Virginia’s State ODP Team and am going to the regional tournament in June. It has always been a goal of mine to continue playing soccer in college. I am a strong student in math and science, and I want to focus on STEM majors in college. I am also a leader on and off the field. I am co-captain of my club team, and have forefronted a lot of volunteer opportunities and projects with classmates and friends. My coaches would describe me as hardworking, communicative, and determined and my teammates would describe me as a positive, encouraging, and fierce player and leader.
