Erin Faughnan '22 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing club volleyball for 7 years and I’m in my 4^th year playing high school, third year starting varsity, and I’m our team captain.  I am a versatile player and have played outside, middle and all around to include serving.  I started playing volleyball in 6^th grade and fell in love with the game.  I am especially proud to continue the tradition of my high school team having won our WCAC regional conference (includes D.C., MD, and VA) this year and D.C. states 7 years in a row.  Our team worked very hard to beat our number one rival to take the WCAC Championship. I am a coachable, encouraging, team player on the court, often lifting my teammates when performance matters most.  I work out, practice hard, and study the game to get better.  I also know when to have fun.

I was looking forward to outstanding 2019-2020 club and high school seasons that were unfortunately derailed due to COVID.  My club team was headed to Nationals when the season ended and our team could not attend. I have worked out and trained all summer long to prepare for my senior high school season and defend our WCAC and D.C. titles. 

Off the court, I enjoy many outdoor sports such as hiking, biking, paddle boarding, and SCUBA diving. I volunteer for an organization called Martha’s table providing healthy foods to families in the D.C. area.  I work part-time at a consignment store where I help with sales, marketing, and often close the store by myself.  I have a 3.7 GPA and want to pursue a Business degree. My dream is to play volleyball in college, create lifelong friendships with my teammates, get a great education while earning my degree, and maybe play beach for a second round while I’m in graduate school. Once I’m done playing, I want to use my leadership and competition skills to start a business that will change the world.
