My name is Ceallsach and I have been playing soccer since I was 2 years old. I fell in love with soccer from the first moment that I remember; I have loved every part of the game, from the drills, the teams, scrimmaging, or simply freestyling. I have always wanted to compete at a high collegiate level. I am very dedicated and driven to achieve this goal of mine.
One of my best aspects during the game is my soccer IQ and field vision. I am always looking for the through ball, a give and go, or even a long ball that can set the foward up for a 1v1 opportunity with the goalie or the winger with a chance to cross the ball in. I always try my best to make the best decision to benefit my team overall. I am very coachable, dedicated, and understanding of the pointers my coaches give me.
I know you cannot just go to a game and call that practice, so I dedicate a lot of my time to off the ball and on the ball workouts to do at home. Whether that is a HIIT workout, an individual training session, a partner training session, or weightlifting; I always strive to do my best with what I resources I have to help me become a strong, fit, well-rounded athlete.
I especially like to dedicate a lot of my time with the ball to continue on developing my technique and accurate shots and passes with both my left and right foot. After recovering from ACL surgery, I first found it quite difficult to maintain the muscle and strength I had in my right leg. But through hardwork and determination, I have regained the strength and even gained some more. I will continue to do so throughtout the winter and spring. It is one of my main priorities to not only keep my right leg strong and healthy, but also my left one.
Off the field, I strive to make high-academic achievements, including honor roll and high honor roll my first and second semester of freshman year. I pride myself to be a self-accountable student athlete where I hold myself to high standards to ensure I am being the best person I can be.
