As I approach the last year of high school I have become more aware of how important it is to overall try and to give anything whether it's a math test or a new skill my best attempt. Growing up softball and basketball were highly encouraged in my family. My grandmother and my mom both played softball throughout school and into their mid twenties and my father was highly into football and lacrosse. They all attempted to influence my choice as to what I wanted to try. They were all shocked at my response to soccer. I wanted to be unique. I wanted to show other kids it's okay not to follow in your parents footsteps. Experiencing soccer at the next level has always been a goal of mine and being the only one in my family that plays soccer for a while it was scary no one could help because they didn't know anything about the sport but I gained the courage to overcome my own doubts to reach out still continuing to ask my coaches what I can do to improve and frequently spending extra time after practice.
I want to further my academics into studying education to be able to give back all that I've learned through soccer and to attempt to teach how hard work and passion can create your future and help in every aspect of life.
