My name is Addisyn, and I am a freshman at Mashpee High School. I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember. Soccer started for me when I was very young and would play with my older sister in the backyard. From there I made a high-level club team when I was in the 2nd grade. We had to travel and hour for practices and 2 ½ hours for my games on the weekends. My Mom taught me at an early age that playing at the club level was a commitment, well any team really. And that showing up all the time for my team was important. My coach and my team depended on me. When I was 11, just before my 12th Birthday I was playing my first town travel game, and I tore my ACL. It was the end of 6th grade so I knew that I would miss playing in middle school. It was pretty much the worst possible news that I could hear. My heart was broken, and I remember My Mom hugged me and I just cried. Soccer was my life, it was all I knew, and all did. I was only 12 so it was very hard to comprehend. I knew with a broken bone I would be back on the field in 6 weeks, but this injury was going to sideline me for 9 Months. Coming back from this kind of injury was not easy. I joined a new club team so there were so many changes and adjustments. I fought hard to work my way back to where I was. In 8th grade, I made JV for my high school and I played and started in a varsity game. I actually got to play a game with my sister who was a senior, it was the only time that we had ever played on the same field. That year I made the Impact team for club. In 9th grade, I made varsity as a freshman and started every game. I also got my first varsity goal. I will start my club season playing in the new Regional Academy League. I usually play right or left forward but also play midfield. I am a team player and will always play wherever I am needed. School is very important to me and I know that I need to be very focused on good grades to get into a good college one day. Although I am young I know that I want to play in college, I am not sure at what level yet but I will figure that out as time goes on.
