Personal Statement

Hi, My name is Lacy Sanders, and I am 15 years old i'm from Somerville, MA, but I attend the Woodward School for Girls in Quincy MA. I have played soccer since I was 3 and have always loved the sport. I started playing Defense and Forward but then fell in love with being a goalkeeper. My ambition and goals are to play D1 or D2 college soccer. I have very good decision making skills on the field. I love learning more about the game and have just received my referee badge. When I'm not on the field, I take part in Drama, Basketball, and many other clubs.

I started my club career when I was 7, playing for GPS developmental academy. Then when I was 10, I transferred to FC Stars, where I stayed until I was in U14. Our team started out rough, but we got better over time in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons. We went undefeated in both years. I just finished a season with Aztec Boston, and I liked it. They pushed me to the next level and help me become a better player. But now I am going back to FC Stars, where I will start in Goal on the 2007 East Blue team. I am excited to start this new chapter of my life as I play U17 when I'm only 15; it will push me to work harder than I have ever worked and to reach my goals. This past spring season (2023), I was the starting goalkeeper on my town team, where we went  8-1-0 and we had 32 goals for and only 4 goals against in D2. I am back playing for the Massachusetts ODP pool for the 2nd year and my confidence on and off the ball has grown immensely. My ODP coaches push me to my best ability and make me so much stronger.

As I enter High School as part of the class of 2027, I will be starting varsity in goal; I am ready to push myself even further both in athletics and academics. I am often told I am a leader and kind, which is good both on and off the field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
