My name is Alexis Sherry and I am a current Junior at Austin Preparatory School in Reading, Ma. I play various positions including left/right wing, center forward, and attacking mid. With my high school team I play center forward and I wear jersey number 16. With my club team, NEFC North Shore Girls DPL I start as a left/right winger but I am open to playing other positions as well. For my club team I wear jersey number 13. I have been playing club soccer since I was in the third grade. Something I have learned over the years playing soccer is that I love the competitiveness and the team aspects. I have been apart of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer ODP Program for the past 5 years and each year I have been invited to the East Region ODP ID event. I was also invited to play abroad back in 2019 in London and Paris with the NEFC 06 Girls GA team. Achieving goals like these have helped me to become a more well-rounded player as well as gaining the ability to play with people that I may not have known before. The teammates and coaches I have meet over the years have helped me progress to become the player I am currently and help me strive to get to the highest level of soccer I can achieve.
In regards to academics, I am an all honors student receiving distinction (all A's) for all of my freshman year and sophomore year, quarterly. I was apart of the National Junior Honor Society and recently inducted into the National Honor Society as well. I am also a mentor and ambassador at my school and have been since the 7th grade. I was promoted to Head Green Key Ambassador at my school which is one of our mentoring programs. Another academic accomplishment I had recently received is becoming a SAVI Delegate. This is one of the student leader programs for the Augustinian schools across the USA. I was one of 6 students selected from my graduating class. Looking for colleges, I am trying to find a school that can allow me to continue challenging myself in the classroom and on the soccer field while also continuing my leadership roles. I am also looking for a school that can allow me to express myself as both a student and an athlete. I hope this helps you learn a little bit more about me both as a student and an athlete. I am excited to continue this journey in finding the right program and school for me!
