Personal Statement
I started playing soccer when I was 3 years old. Though starting at a young age, I was never competitive until 11v11 started and I moved clubs to a more intensive program. That's when the love and passion for the sport grew enormously. That's when I decided that I wanted more than anything to play collegiate soccer.
Now, I attend a boarding school to chase my college dreams. It offers me more than any other program I've been a part of, competing with girls 3-4 grades above me and playing 6 days a week with consistent traveling. It was difficult at first, especially since I transferred in the middle of the year. I moved hundreds of miles away from anyone that I knew and moved into a dorm with people I had never met before and knew nothing about. I took on the most challenging curriculum I possibly could and went to every extra soccer session my team had. I was sore every day and I missed my friends and family, but I developed into a better player and I learned how to be independent.
For me, soccer is so much more than a sport. It's where I learned leadership and was captain of every team I've been on. It's where I create friendships that last for a lifetime. It's where I can truly compete to make myself the best I can be.
