Personal Statement

Why would I make an excellent recruit for your team?  I am relentless, hardworking, strong, and driven!    I believe that I could make significant contributions to your soccer program.  I am a highly motivated player that will go above and beyond to accomplish a goal and look for ways to improve myself.  I grew up with two older athletic brothers, including a wrestling state champion, and it comes natural for me to be fiercely competitive in sports.  My physical strength, endurance, effective ball handling, and bursts of speed have helped me compete for the ball and win challenges.  I have an ability to visualize the entire field, make quick decisions, and have the endurance to last an entire game out on the field.

I am a multi-sport athlete, but soccer is my absolute favorite!  It is my dream and ultimate goal to play soccer in college and pursue a Nursing degree.  In college, I believe that I could be successful in both soccer and academics because I have learned how to balance my school work, play a variety of sports, and maintain a high GPA while in high school.  I have prioritized soccer my whole life and made sacrifices to attain my goals on a daily basis.

Coaches have described me as being "relentless"  and having a real physical presence on the field.  I will work extremely hard for you and my teammates in order to make an impact and Win games!!!   You won't find a more dedicated and hardworking player out there.  I am also very coachable and flexible in playing other positions, which has given me a unique perspective and understanding of the game.

I am a good role model on and off the field.  On my team, I constantly encourage others and strive to be a good team player.  I enjoy helping coach youth soccer summer camps and helping my little sister with soccer drills at home.  When I am not playing soccer, I aspire to be a role model in my community and spend time serving the poor.  Recently, I volunteered for a mission trip with Hope of the Poor in Mexico City where I helped the poor with my church group.  These experiences have inspired me to want to continue to be a leader and help others locally and in my future working in health care.   Whether it be in my backyard, community, or on my team, I hope to make a difference.

I am very excited for my future and look forward to learning more about all the amazing collegiate soccer programs available that might need a player like me.  I will work relentlessly to achieve the team goals and be the best soccer player, teammate, student, and person that I can be.  It is my goal to play soccer at the highest level and grateful for the opportunity to search for the right college fit for me.  Thank you for your time and hope you would consider me for a future player for your team.
