My name is Rylie Bush and I am in the graduating class of 2023. I am a forward and attacking midfield wing. However, I am a very versatile player that is able to play where needed. I have been playing since I was 4 years old and have developed a passion for soccer and love of the game. This year has brought many, many challenges for not only me but my family and my team. Earlier this year my father passed away from Covid-19; he had been my coach since the beginning. At first I was so sure that I didn’t think I would ever want to play again, but after one practice out on the field, I fell back in love with the game. My team’s first tournament without my father as coach was Mayors Cup International Showcase. We played six games and made it to the championship game undefeated. We finished regulation time in finals at a 1-1 draw. My team headed into penalties after a prayer and toast to my father. After a total of 20 penalty kicks and a couple lightning strikes we finally won the coveted title. My team is one of the main reasons I love the game; they are truly family now. That is what I love most about this sport, how close it brings people together. I would love to continue playing the sport that I love throughout college and to honor the passion for the game that my father instilled in me.
