Committed to McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.
Thank you.
I am currently in 8th Grade at the Monroe Township Middle School in Monroe Township, NJ playing soccer for both the Middle School team and our 2002 U15 MTSC Sparks team. In addition to Club and School soccer, where I serve as co-captain of either team, I have trained with Next Gen USA in their supplemental Emerging Talent Center (ETC) program. As part of Next Gen, I have participated in select trips to Canada to the 2015 Women's World Cup in which we played friendlies against club teams from Montreal and Quebec. Most recently I have been selected to travel to the UK in Spring 2017 for NextGen's international tour. The NextGen program stresses strong character, in addition to playing ability, through their " Character of Champions" workshops which take place after every weekly session. I pride myself on being a team first player. I care deeply for the girls alongside me on the pitch and off.
Recently I have begun participating in the Junior Trainers Program here in Monroe, whereby selected players age 13+ interact with young players in our town's recreational soccer program. As a new junior trainer I conduct practices and training sessions along side an experienced Junior Trainer, for teams of players in grades K-5. I am excited for this opportunity to continue in the Spring of 2017 and beyond as I truly enjoy working with the children. I intent to pursue a Grade 9 referee certification in the summer of 2017 once I turn 14.
Academics has always been the most important focus for me as the rule in our home is, " no grades, no sports." I have consistently achieved principal's list and honor roll. I am looking forward to the challenges High School will bring.
As an 8th grade student, I still have a lot to think about and decide upon with respect to my collegiate experience. My parents have both told me how important a decision that will be in my life. For now, I believe I would choose a path in the field of education. I really enjoy helping kids learn and the satisfaction that comes from it. I love the game of soccer and hope to have the opportunity to continue to play in college.
