Personal Statement
Winning the Sectional Championship my sophomore year has been the highlight of my soccer career so far. However, I grew the most as a student-athlete when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer the same year we won sectionals. That experience helped me grow tremendously as a person, and also made sure I still kept up with soccer and improving my game. It taught me that no matter what, you must keep working if you truly want to achieve your goals.
I learned to value the importance of a team, dedication, sacrifice and leadership as I was dealing with both my mom’s cancer and becoming a sectional champion. Once I began to value all of those things even more, soccer became more than just a game. I am looking for a program that will fit me athletically and academically. I believe I have the talent to compete at a collegiate level, but more importantly I have the dedication, work-ethic, and attitude needed to make an impact on your program. I know I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!
