My name is Hope Adigun, I am a sophomore at Liverpool High School in Liverpool, New York, looking and determined to play soccer in my upcoming college career. I am a starting outside midfielder or forward/winger with my school team, and my position playing on my club team varies, but majority of the time I play forward and outside midfield. I’d love to continue my journey with soccer if given the opportunity to do so! I’m hard working and learning to persevere through the pain and the minor setbacks. With the willingness of God I have been able to continue playing through injury and faults, and I’ve dreamed of prolonging my journey with soccer to learn what it means to be a true team player, and to also set an example for the younger players that watch me!
I’m able to break down on defense and being an outside midfielder, I am very good with getting up and dropping back when I need to. I have played with Syracuse Development Academy for almost 2 years now, playing anywhere at midfield, and I am currently on the Girls Nike Orange 04’ Team, which is a year above my grade level. I am pretty fairly good at winning headers and balls out of the air. I am also good with my free kicks and corners. I am able to connect through balls, and 1 2’s. As a team, we have always been taught how to approach our mistakes as a team, and as individuals, so when teammates see something open or an offensive opportunity that I can play a part in, they make sure I’m set up to do so. I am also able to take pointers and constructive criticism on what can be corrected from coaches and teammates, and adapt to why they’re asking of me in order to get more scoring opportunity.
As my years in college ever so slowly come closer, I am planning on majoring in Psychology, Theology and/or Youth Ministry, Criminal Justice, or Athletic Training. Having an older sibling, I have been taught that not everyone sticks with they study in their first year, which is why I have multiple options, but also because they are all fields that I’ve taken interest in in the past few years.
