My name is Sophia DeLaurentiis and I am member of the 2023 graduating class. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old, and I have loved it ever since. I am very passionate about the game, and I am willing to put countless hours of work in to get better and improve my skills. When I was younger I played right wing, but as I got older I took on more of a defensive role, which has allowed me to take in the skills of both an offensive and defensive player which I find to be very useful on the field. For all the teams I've played on in my soccer career I have always taken on a leadership role. I am always the one to take all the goal, corner, and free kicks, and I have always been given a lot of playing time for my role as a valuable player. Although I have always been rewarded with a lot of playing time, I know that privileges like this don't come easy, and aren't just handed out. I know that I will have to work hard to earn a spot on any college team, and I am willing to put that work in because it has been my dream since I was young to play soccer in college.
As hard as I work on the field I work just as hard off the field. In 8th grade I took 3 high school level classes, and I finished my year with all A's. During freshman year I maintained a 4.0 gpa while taking honors course, and as I enter my sophomore year I hope I am able to maintain a 4.0 gpa again, while taking 3 honors classes. I always work extra hard on my academics and focus on my school work. I have always been a very good student, and I hope to bring my work ethic and knowledge to college. I would like to major in some kind of science, maybe chemistry or biology, and one day become a dentist.
I am really excited to see where my NCSA journey takes me, and I am really looking forward to the recruiting process.
