Leighanne Davis '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Leighanne Davis and I am a junior from Currituck County, North Carolina. As a student-athlete I am interested in a school that can fulfill my thirst for knowledge as well as my desire to play soccer at the collegiate level. Size and location is not my top priority in choosing a school, but more towards if the school has my desired major. Although I do not know for sure what I would like my major to be in I have a good idea that it will deal with mathematics. My current un-weighted GPA is 3.9 and I am ranked within the top 10 in my graduating class of about 275. Although my passion is soccer I also participate in cross country and track to help me stay in shape for soccer. As a freshman and sophomore I competed in both the Regional meets for cross country and outdoor track, and I also went all the way to the State indoor track meet both years. During the summer I have also participated in the AAU Junior Olympic games in Detroit, Michigan and Des Moines, Iowa. In 2008 in Detroit I won my age group and won the title as Junior Olympic javelin champion. I have been playing soccer for about 11 years now, 8 of the years on a competitive travel team. As a freshman in 2009, I not only started, I lead my High School team in goals and assists and earned MVP. I currently play for Old Dominion Soccer Club U18 Bengals in VA Beach, VA, where I start and rarely come off the field. I am actually a U17 player, but I play up a year with the Bengals. Last summer I went to the Region 3 ODP camp in Montevallo, AL for a week on the NC ODP team, and I will be participating in various camps this summer also. My main position is midfielder, but I am versatile enough to play every field position very well. I am currently 5 foot 7 inches tall and I run a 40 yard dash in 5.6 seconds. I am also a licensed coach with the NSCAA and I coach a U14 girls travel team. My life is devoted to school and soccer and I would truly like to continue playing soccer on a competitive level throughout college and hopefully further.
