Personal Statement
I am a soccer player. It is hard for me not to capitalize it because I feel the term SOCCER PLAYER defines me, as much for my love of the game as what it means to me as the person I have become. It has shaped me through friendships and has instilled in me a work ethic and competitiveness, I do not think I could have learned anywhere else.
As an athlete, I have always worked extremely hard to get better. I am never fully satisfied till I have reached my next goal; weather it is a state, regional, national championship or individually perfecting every aspect of my game. I absolutely love to compete at the highest level against the best teams. One of my top skill sets as a player is my vision. Playing attacking mid, I feel one of my biggest strengths is seeing the open player and getting my through ball to them. I have versatility, in that I can play other positions on the field such as forward and outside back. I have also been complemented by my ODP, club and high school coaches on my coachability and my ability to implement what I am taught. Lastly, my hard work ethic, I believe comes from my love of the game and the want to be the very best player I can be.
From a team aspect, I'm used to playing at a high level. My club team Keystone FC '03 is playing in the National League and is currently ranked #1 by Got Soccer for U16. My high school team, Cumberland Valley, is ranked # 3 in the country by USA Today. My ODP team, Pennsylvania, recently won regionals.
My excellence and work ethic carries over to the classroom where I have maintained a 3.9 GPA while taking AP and Honor classes. I am also involved with extracurricular activities such as Mini-Thon, Leadership Bible School, volunteering in my community, as well as assisting with my sisters travel team.
I know I would definitely be an asset to any team by working hard with a "no matter what it takes" attitude and my ability to be a positive role model.
