My name is Margaux Luvisutto and I am a senior in high school. I attend Westtown school in PA.
As an international student playing soccer in the US, I have faced many challenges whether it be finding new friends or adapting to a completely new atmosphere and culture. I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada where I started playing soccer at the age of 18 months. I have moved around a lot throughout my life and I like to think that the experiences in different places have made me who I am today. I moved from Las Vegas to Gold Coast, Australia, and shortly after I moved again to Sydney, Australia. After 4 years, my family and I moved to Hong Kong, China where we currently live. I was finally able to understand and find my true passion for soccer at a weekly boarding school there. At the age of 10, I began boarding and so I automatically began becoming more independent. I find that this is one of my best qualities as I am able to reach my goals and exceed my own expectations by myself with the support of my family and coaches. I joined the Hong Kong Football Club and played in the U18 league beginning at the age of 14 and this helped me to grow and learn with more experienced and talented players.
I believe that I have a quality that most others do not necessarily have and that is balance. I split my focus between soccer and academics to the best of my ability and I find it extremely important that my grades and communications in class be just as good as my performance in training or in games. This year has been challenging as I skipped my sophomore year making me a 3-year high school student instead of 4. I have had to work extra hard however, it has been and continues to be a great experience for me. During practice, I do my very best to motivate my teammates in good or bad situations and I can 100% say with certainty that I will always do my best to create a fun but driven atmosphere where we all can grow as a team and as students. I fully believe that I would be not only valuable as a player but also as a character on and off the field.
