Briana Russell '22 Recruiting Profile

Making varsity as a freshman and helping my team go to playoffs for the first time in seven years were two moments I will never forget. Although we did not make it to playoffs the following year, which was difficult for the whole program, I was able to walk away from the season knowing I grew as a student-athlete. I was able to learn how to manage my time and re-focus my attention in order to block out anything else going on as soon as I stepped onto the field. This experience allowed me to excel at my position and show my new skills as I went into the next season for my pre-academy club team. Being a member of Penn Fusion Soccer Academy, I have been privileged enough to play with a lot of very talented players and compete against some of the most competitive teams in the region. 

Considering I have been playing soccer since I was six years old, I have developed a love for the sport that has kept me hooked on continuing it throughout my college career. I am looking for a program that fits me not only athletically, but educationally as well by providing me with the chance to show my work-ethic, leadership, and commitment. Moving past losing my grandfather this past summer has taught me to be strong and work for what I want without letting things distract me. I know that putting me on your team will make a big impact on your success!
