~~My name is Chelsea Sahagian.
I am currently a junior at Narragansett High School in Narragansett, Rhode Island. I have been playing soccer since I was six years old and have played at many different levels. I started playing for the co-ed town league and my love for the game has grown from there. My goal has always been to play at the college level; to play and compete at the high intense level has always been an achievement I wanted to reach.
I am currently a forward for my high school team. I am 5’4” and weigh 135 lbs. My strengths as an athlete are found in my speed, agility, and ability to communicate with my teammates on the field. I am the all-time leading scorer at my school, which I accomplished my junior year. As a freshman, I was voted MVP at the end of our winning the state championship game; an award consistently given to a senior. I was awarded all- state honorable mention my freshman year. I made All-State 2nd team my sophomore and junior year. My freshman and sophomore year I was in the top five leading scorers in the state. My junior year I lead the state in goals in Division I & II.
I also am a team captain. As a captain, I have learned many more skills that help with my game of soccer. I have learned the importance of leading by example, working diligently during practice and playing my hardest during game time motivates my teammates to do the same. I learned the importance of supporting my coaches and the decisions they make is vital to being successful on the field. As a captain, you have to be a positive role model on and off the field; it is a role I have embraced.
Since I entered Narragansett High School, I have been a three sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and softball. I have been fortunate to win back to back state championships in basketball. I was named player of the game my sophomore year. I lead the state with the most rebounds and ended my sophomore year with 486 points. I was named 2nd team All Division my sophomore year for basketball. I was named captain my junior year. I have played fast -pitch softball for the last two years as well. My sophomore year we won the state championship. I had a batting average of 676 and the most stolen bases for my team. I was named 1st team All Division Softball at the end of the season.
My love to compete began when I was six when I played house league soccer. I soon began playing travel soccer which led to playing premiere. I have gained a great amount of experience playing on all of these teams, with positive outcomes deriving from my participation. I have been exposed to different coaches and different players at many different levels of competition. My goal is to compete at the highest level and play for a college or university team as I pursue an education.
