Personal Statement
Let's Go Coach!
My name Is Bailee Busby. I am 17 years old and a senior at Cane Bay High School. I live in Summerville, SC. I have been playing soccer since I was 4! My mom says my first steps were to a soccer ball as a baby, not to her (which she was super upset about!) She knew then that I was going to succeed in soccer. I grew up a proud military kid. My dad was in the Navy for 15 years and is now a disabled veteran whom I am very proud of. He has always taught me the value of honor, integrity, hard work, and commitment. During long separations away from each other my mom really drove home the value of family, how to support one another and take care of each other while always being responsible for my own actions. This has helped me tremendously when moving every few years to new new cities and adjusting my soccer to new coaches, clubs and schools. I have always prided myself on being friendly, kind, sincere, and a great listener! . My ability to connect with people is one of my strongest assets. While I have won many trophies, tournaments, team captain roles; I am most proud of my 8th grade year on JV with the High School. We brought home the first ever trophy for the school in boys and girls soccer in the history of the school. This year I have made Varsity and am excited to engage with my teammates and win again! While I am proud of these accomplishments I have had some struggles, it has been a struggle for me to maintain a consistent game play style and remain consistent with my skills from moving around so much and not having one dedicated club or coach to teach me. However, I work hard to adapt to change quickly and can play any style set forth by my coaches. My entire life has been dedicated to my grades and my playing. This has always been a passion and GOAL for me to join a college team, gain my education, and become a future role model and leader for teens like me!
Thank you for your time and interest. I am certainly looking for a school that can challenge my goals academically as well as my passion for the game. Thanks Coach!
