Joanna LaForte '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Joanna and I developed a passion for playing sports at a very young age. As I got older, soccer and basketball became my favorites and I’ve enjoyed participating in both for the past several seasons. However, to help best prepare for the transition to college, I will be playing soccer only beginning in 2024. 

I‘ve played club soccer for 6 seasons at multiple positions but primarily forward and outside back. For the ‘23-‘24 season, I was selected for ODP, then added to TN-07G active team roster after participating in state pool training events. On school teams, I‘ve remained in the starting lineup every year since 5th grade. I was voted “Newcomer of the Year“ as a freshman, received ”Coaches Award” as a sophomore, then made “All-District” and “Offensive MVP” my junior season while leading the team in scoring. 

I also played AAU travel basketball for 6 seasons with Nike TN Flight, middle school for 4 years, and played on both JV and Varsity teams in 9th & 10th grade. We advanced to consecutive state championship games in 2022 & 2023. I was grateful to have been part of something so special that made school history. I enjoyed the challenging journey and had fun making memories with teammates and coaches. 

I have a strong work ethic and take personal responsibility for my growth, development, and success in both academics and athletics. In the classroom, I’ve made straight A’s to achieve Principal List honors every semester at MTCS. In 2023, was proud to be awarded “Most Improved Athlete of the Year” by MGL Sports Performance Training. I’m a very coachable and unselfish person always willing to contribute in whatever way needed to best help the team. I look forward to finding a great fit that offers the opportunity to continue playing the game I love while earning my degree.
